Sass.Art uses light, color, and fabric to create installations that visually represent what queerness feels like to her – vibrant, beautiful, other. She places people within these queered space and covers their faces in oil. Light and color reflect and attach onto the subject, blurring the boundaries between form and space. She documents the experience and then paints the resulting image on engineered wood, confronting the viewer with each subject’s larger than life presence. The results are powerful, vivacious portraits that invite you to connect + feel.
