Climate change. Late Stage Capitalism. Internet Surveillance. Instagram Robots. Student Debt. $15 Avocado Toast. Fascist Police States. Donald Trump’s Presidency.
It’s the end of the f*$%ing world as we know it.
As part of a 7-year tradition at The Carrack, we invite any artist to drop off one work of art to be hung in a three-week community show. There is no entry fee or jury process. Simply bring an original work that meets the requirements below and we will hang your work. This year, we are introducing a theme of Rupture | Rapture | Revolution, inviting artists to consider the apocalypse, the end of the world, and impending doom. Artists are also encouraged to visualize possible futures and imagine potential transformations. Who will survive, and how?
To participate in the Community Show, artists must drop off work on Sunday, January 13 or Monday, January 14 from 12pm – 3pm.
The exhibition will open on Friday, January 25 with a reception, and will remain on view through February 9. Pick up is Sunday, February 10th from 12pm – 5pm.
